CVDC Meeting, September 2013

The latest Steering Committee meeting was hosted by Haldex on 18th September, 2013 at MIRA.

Progress of the research over the last six months was reviewed and reports on the following projects were discussed:

Implementation of slip control braking on an HGV; Steered longer semi-trailer project; Combined steering and braking; Reversing Long Combination Vehicles; Visual sensing of articulation angle; Active steering off-highway; Cyclist collision avoidance.

Industrial Consortium members made valuable contributions to the aims and direction of the research.

During the meeting, a demonstration of the new Slip-Control Braking System on a straight-line wet track was conducted by Leon Henderson for consortium members. A video of the demonstration is available here.

Professor David Cebon, director of the CVDC and SRF, gave a report on the progress of the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight (SRF).

The next CVDC Steering Committee meeting will be held on 18th March, 2014 in Cambridge.
