CVDC Member Haldex Brake Products recently signed a license agreement with the University of Cambridge to exploit the CVDC's slip-control pneumatic braking technology for truck brakes.
Haldex is developing the technology and has prototypes running on test tracks.
An interesting article was published by Reuters this week, discussing the recent takeover bids for Haldex. The last third of the article discusses the slip control braking technology. "One of the main projects that Haldex is pursuing is an electronic brake system (EBS) based on intelligent braking valves mounted on each wheel, as opposed to the standard of a central brake control unit...."
