This project is building a longer semitrailer with the CVDC's active steering technology, in partnership with SDC, Tridec, Goodyear, Haldex and Wincanton.
A 15.65m long, actively steered Longer Semitrailer (LST) is being built and tested by a team consisting of the University researchers, SDC Trailers, Tridec, Goodyear, Haldex and Wincanton. The trailer will be field-tested in commercial operations by Wincanton later in 2013.
The system has been named: 'Path Following Steering System' (PFSS). For details of the technology see our leaflet.
