CVDC Technology Showcase 2010

The CVDC Technology Showcase will be an opportunity to see the work of the consortium at first hand. It will include presentations from researchers describing a sample of current projects as well as presentations and displays by member companies. The highlight of the day will be demonstrations of some innovative vehicle technologies on the MIRA proving ground.

Introduction

The CVDC Technology Showcase will be an opportunity to see the work of the consortium at first hand. It will include presentations from researchers describing a sample of current projects as well as presentations and displays by member companies. The highlight of the day will be demonstrations of some innovative vehicle technologies on the MIRA proving ground.

Who Should Attend?

The Technology Showcase will be attended by representatives of the European heavy goods vehicle industry, transport operators and shippers, UK and European transport officials and the transport press. Apart from an outstanding networking opportunity, the event will provide awareness of recent cutting-edge innovations in heavy vehicle stability, braking and control technology and their application to conventional and more productive heavy vehicles in the UK and Europe.

If you wish to attend the event fee is £80 per person if the registration form is returned by the 17th of September 2010. Registration after this date will be at a rate of £120 per person.

Vehicle Demonstrations

A number of heavy vehicles will be exhibited and available for some test driving by participants. The innovative Denby Transport ‘Eco-link’ concept vehicle will be on display and the CVDC’s experimental Actively Steered B-double will perform manoeuvres demonstrating its unique path-following steering controller - both forwards and reverse. Haldex will demonstrate an active reversing assist system, as well as their electromechanical braking system. A wide range of cutting edge heavy vehicle technologies will also be on display from other consortium members.

Additional Information

The CVDC Technology Showcase will take place on the 19th of October 2010 at the MIRA test facilities in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK. To receive the early-bird registration rate of £80 per person please return the registration form before the 17th of September 2010. Registration after this date will be at a rate of £120 per person.
